Is it right or wrong for you to in self defense, kill someone who has not yet taken any action against you?

in self defense, kill someone that is violently attacking you ?

kill yourself ?

Kill all of your family ?

right if I don't pre-emptively protect myself, how can I be sure that he won't attack me?

wrong it wouldn't really be self-defense

wrong no action would include not threatening me. A threat is an action - maybe you should clarify your question.
