Is it right or wrong for you to convince people that your morality is right?
treat morality as a democracy of votes as this site seems to ?
judge other's morality on the basis of what makes you go "ewww - that's nasty" ?
right if I think my morality is right, I must (respectfully) expose my views to others
wrong Morality is worthless when people don't arrive on each view by themselves. It also shows lack of security on your part on the universality of your views.
wrong there is no universal right or wrong.
wrong I am amoral.
wrong it is my job to enable people to trust their own sense of doubt---the greatest enabler of human thinking. Without doubt, the society would stop progressing and the activities of science would grind to a halt.
right the point of having beliefs is believing you're right and convincing others to share in being right, but only if you've sensibly considered their moraltiy and still consider yours right
right until you don't annoy them it's not immoral
wrong I don't really care what other people believe, as long as it's not hurting anyone else.
right That is the entire content of civil discourse and philosophy, let alone religion and art. We all want to be heard, the trick is in honestly seeking truth and then actually living it. Every exchange is a moral exchange.
right logic is our God
wrong To each his/her own.
right as long as others are afforded equal magnitude of free-speech, the ensuing discourse will lead to a better society
right Convincing is good, "forcing" is bad.
wrong it doesn't matter how people rate your morality, it only matters if it helps you live the life you want
right All moralities have the same basic tennets. The big ones are universally right. The little ones are right only when based on location, economy and other considerations.
right I believe that I'm right and am prepared both to defend my stance and adapt it if someone else should have a better argument
