Is it right or wrong for you to pretend to have certain political beliefs around your friends but vote a different way at the polls?

right polls and voting are crappy systems anyway.

right you might have a more complex weltbild than a single party can cover.

wrong then there's no chance that my friends will help me achieve my political beliefs.

right your vote is private. If you must pretend around "friends" in order to vote your conscience, then do so.

right you dont have to say anything if you dont want.

right unless I can do this, free, anonymous voting system means nothing. If they were my true friends, they would be able to divine how I would vote, if I vote with my conscience. If they are not, I don't give a flying kick about them.

wrong vote how you want to but don't pretend to be what you are not. Keep quiet - you don't have to be what others think you should.

wrong it may be easier to pretend to agree, but it should be important enough that you express it

right the vote is secret

wrong you are free to do it, but can you really lie to your friends?

right you're allowed to say what you want and vote how you want. Misrepresenting yourself is sucky but not a crime.

right although it would harm your relationships, your politics are your own business.

wrong people are influenced by what their friends think and it is untruthful

wrong by not standing up for what you believe in, you lose the chance to convert some of your friends to your correct political beliefs!
