As long as respect doesn't degenerate into blind obedience.
don't in self defense, kill someone who has not yet taken any action against you ?
in self defense, kill someone that is violently attacking you
no one has the right to harm me and if attacked, I would make every effort to stop the attack, including, if necessary, killing my attacker.
question authority
blind obedience to an authority, such as a government, has led to Nazism, fascism and "I was just following orders" (think My Lai in Vietnam). Better to question and make people think and provide a type of checks and balance.
don't question other people's faiths to see how they hold up against scrutiny
I believe in respecting other's right to believe as they choose as long as they don't try to force their beliefs on me or use those beliefs to legislate away my rights.
operate a private club where people pay a fee to engage in safe sex in a closed environment
as long as all parties are consenting adults, practicing safe sex to prevent the spread of AIDS and other STDs, then that is fine with me (though I personally wouldn't want to do it).
don't bomb an entire country of men, women, and children because of the actions of their leader
punishing a whole nation for the actions of their leader is immoral. Better to capture the leader and have him/her put on trial for whatever crimes have been committed.
don't bomb the outposts of a country that could possibly attack your country
attacking another country on the basis of what they MIGHT do, instead of on the basis of them attacking you first, is stupid and wasteful.
don't show naked pictures of your wife to your friends
it is an invasion of another person's privacy
