respect authority
Respecting authority doesn't mean I immediately obey it, or that I don't question it. It only means that I accept that they are the authority and that I am polite.
question authority
The social contract requires that the people continually renew their consent to authority. This requires constant questioning.
don't answer every question on moralize.us with "it's your right to do so"
Just because I can doesn't mean that I should.
question other people's faiths to see how they hold up against scrutiny
If someone tries to convert me to their faith then I damn well will prove that everything they believe is bullshit.
don't legislate morality
The big moral questions are already legislated (murder, theft, ect.) What's left is stuff that doesn't work cross culturally.
convince people that your morality is right
All moralities have the same basic tennets. The big ones are universally right. The little ones are right only when based on location, economy and other considerations.
castrate your dog
I don't plan on breeding my dogs. By not castrating them I leave them open to greater fighting and possibly knocking up some bitch. I don't want to saddle some one else with my puppy babies.
don't discriminate against the obese
Discrimination in and of itsself is wrong. But if someone is so fat that they take up 2 seats then they have to pay for them.
don't let your kid eat too much and exercise too little and become obese
A parent's job is to teach their children to be good human beings. This includes teaching them to be healthy.
exercise when you're sick
Exercise in general is good for you and makes you healthier. If you are so sick that exercise will actually hurt you, then you probably shouldn't.
kill yourself
First of all, it's your life and no one else's. But not without a good deal of thought and probably some extreme physical pain. Just because I'm depressed isn't reason enough unless I have 0 lfriends and loved ones.
don't kill your deformed baby
Killing people is bad, but sometimes it is more humane. Circumstances dictate actions.
let your baby cry to sleep
Because we cannot coddle our chilren their whole lives and letting them cry to sleep is the first step
